Assignment 16A

First Interview: Mom & Dad Me: Hi Maria could I’m conducting this interview to understand a little bit more about what sets me apart from the rest, what makes me unique. Can we start off by you telling me three things you think are unique about me? Mom: There are a lot of amazing things about you and I love all of them but what makes you unique is the way in which you aim to see the best in everyone, your heart and intentions are so pure and you can notice it by just having one conversation with you because it’s the energy that you give off. You are also incredibly intelligent, you are always able to take something completely new and master it in no time. Its extraordinary. As for the third thing that makes you unique I think its your way of understanding and knowing how to calm down other people or how to react to them to make them secure of themselves. Me: Thank you for that. Do you think that I have grown into these traits or have I always been like this? Mom: you have...

Assignment 15A

I interviewed three wealthy home-owners. I got a bit of mixed feedback from the three. I asked questions like “what would make you happy with this purchase?”, “what would be an alternative to this purchase?”, and “where would you go to look for something like this product?”, and “is it something you would consider and what important factors would lead to your decision to buy?”. The following is a summarized version of my feedback. After interviewing three individuals from the segment I feel my product can best address I have figured out that there are multiple factors that influence the decision of the consumer to become a customer. Since the segment I am targeting is high class style and luxury is extremely important to them, the harmony the product would cause within their home is super important to most homeowners. Price also plays a factor but not a defining one as long as the product isn’t massively overpriced in comparison to its alternatives. The alternatives that I discove...

Assignment 14A

Keeping up with an online class, especially when you work a full-time job is very complicated and hectic. It requires a lot of responsibility, attention, and discipline. Above all discipline. You have to discipline yourself and manage your time in such a way that you set aside sufficient amount of time to be able to succeed within the course. This can be difficult if you have tons of other responsibilities, the key is to get into a weekly routine or a daily routine if the class requires massive amounts of time. A weekly routine has worked best for me because it makes it easier to remember to do the class because once the habit is created it comes naturally. Every Thursday after work I catch up on everything for the class that pertains to that week and if I have time on Sundays I will try to get ahead a bit to give me some leeway. That is also key, if you have the time always get ahead because you never know when something will come up and you won’t have time to do an assignment sai...

Assignment 13A

The entrepreneur I read about Ray Kroc, the fast-food tycoon that all but established McDonald’s as basically part of the American culture with how prominent and successful he was. Nowadays there is a McDonalds on almost every street corner in America. What surprised me the most was that he was not in fact the founder of McDonalds nor the idea of its burger, the McDonalds brothers were. As the story goes he snatched the idea out from under them and ran with it, technically conning the brothers out of any of the rights to the idea or business concept of franchising it. I know that in the world of business it is better to be a shark than a minnow but this is the fact that I least admire about Ray Kroc, his lack of loyalty and his shady actions. He is not a person with integrity or morals but just does anything and everything for money and to be rich. I do admire his ambition and his determination to succeed and grow no matter his circumstance. I also admire the way in which he would no...

Assignment 12A

The segment I will be targeting is that of high-middle, to high class consumers possibly even celebrities or public figures who can also turn their efforts at being green into good publicity and that also have the type of money to put towards making their house a green smart house. Another segment we can target are developers and construction companies and negotiate implementing the system already in the house or building they wish to develop and sell. This would be good for them in the sense that there are a lot of tax related cuts and grants being awarded to developers and construction companies who are implementing more sustainable and greener practices into their way of constructing. It can be argued that creating a “greener house” is greensmart’s whole mantra. The terms that they would search in google are things like: sustainable living, smart homes, home solutions, home technology, luxurious living, etc. The sources of information they might look for are a website, examples ...

Assignment 11A

I am the type of person that looks toward the future. You cannot focus an idea on the current needs of society because needs just like everything else, especially with luxury items, are everchanging. My talents are that I am an analytical people person. I see an idea and I love to challenge myself to analytically bring it to fruition. I am also responsible, dedicated, curious, and innovative. All of these qualities are essential in an entrepreneur and will help me to develop my business concepts to come. I wish to be someone who grows a business and then sells it once its developed and then with that money begin to invest elsewhere. What I am offering to customers is not only a luxurious, tech-savvy lifestyle but also a solution or a simple relief to a future problem. Global warming is very real and its consequences are years away from becoming very impacting on our everyday lives. If we collectively as a whole begin to cramp down on our carbon dioxide emissions and our carbon foot...

Assignment 9A

There are many businesses that provide the smart house service or that provide specifically the implementation of putting in solar panels or that might sell all of these things separately but there is no one that has focused on a holistically green smart house. For you to actually make an effective difference you have to look at the consumption as a whole you have to see how the whole house intertwines to make it effective. I believe that the luxurious concept of our allowing people to go green through our service is one that has not been explored by other companies before. Other companies meet the needs of wanting a lower utilities bill or in being more conscious about the environment but they’ve never added the service of creating luxury for their clients. The people I am targeting are not your average consumers but more towards those who are high income earners and are very wealthy because those are the people who leave the biggest carbon footprint. The outsider’s change their way...

Assignment 8A

My selected opportunity stems from the stated fact of Global Warming. There is a ton of proof and a ton of science behind the fact that the way in which we consume and our way of life in general is continuously and constantly polluting the planet. Sea levels are rising, temperatures are becoming more drastic, and weather patterns are becoming more chaotic and unbalanced. Those living in multiple places fear the risk of loosing their homes due to rising sea levels or massive hurricanes that spin out of control and damage everything in their path, one specific place in the planet that should is Miami, FL (technically all of South Florida). South Florida is one of the places that are supposed to be under water by the end of a couple upcoming decades. It has also been noted that the world’s richest people are those those that have the biggest carbon footprint due to the fact that they have the means to consume more, travel more, buy more, etc. When you ask multiple people why it is they ...
